Keep Your Cool with Ideal Display Cooler Temperatures

Keeping your cooled goods fresh is why you invested in a walk-in cooler or freezer in the first place, right? So you shouldn’t let that effort go to waste! Whether you’re keeping beverages chilled to customers’ preferences or keeping fresh snacks from going bad, there’s an ideal temperature for your display cooler. By finding the proper temperature for your cooler, you’ll keep your goods from spoiling, which keeps your business from spoiling, too.

Depending on your specific appliance, here is a quick guide for ideal temperatures:
Walk-in cooler: 35F to 38F
Walk-in freezer: 0F to -10F

Be Patient
If your walk-in cooler or freezer needs to be reset to meet the optimal temperature, always remember that it takes some time for the unit to regulate the internal conditions to the specified temperature. As such, wait at least one full day before rechecking the unit’s temperature. If you check too soon, you may falsely believe your system isn’t working properly.

Be Aware
Depending on how your display cooler or freezer is used, you may need to adjust temperatures if doors are being opened frequently. If customers are frequently peeking at your inventory by opening your cooler doors, the temperature will naturally rise.

This is also something to remember when choosing the time to check the true temperature. If you’ve just spent an hour restocking, this would not be a great moment to check. Wait at least five or ten minutes with the doors sealed before returning to evaluate this information.

Keep this important information in mind to get the most out of your display cooler and to keep your business running smoothly!
