Walk-In Cooler Design in Lawrence MI - American Cooler Technologies


American Cooler Technologies warrants to the original purchaser that the panels it manufactures shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship under the intended use and service for a period of 10 years from the date of the original shipment. All metal and painted surfaces shall be warranted for a period of one year from the original date of shipment.

American Cooler Technologies warrants all mechanical refrigeration systems, to the original purchaser that the system is free from defects in materials and workmanship for the normal use and service intended as or and specified by the manufacturer. Warranty period will be for a period of one year from the date of original shipment and be limited to the replacement of parts of the refrigeration equipment. Equipment deemed as defective must be returned to factory for inspection by A.C.T. or by its authorized agent.


The modular design, insulated walk in cooler and freezer panels manufactured by American Cooler Technologies Inc. using this specification shall be manufactured for ease in installation, flexibility to fit customer requirements and allow for future relocation or enlargement

Standard A.C.T. panels shall be constructed using #2 SPF lumber with tongue and groove frame. Standard panel thickness shall be 4″ for cooler and 5 ½” for freezer. Standard panel width shall be 8″ up to 46″ to accommodate floor plans. Custom widths manufactured to fit any plan. Standard panel heights shall be 8′, 9′ , or 10′. Up to 20′ special height walls can be constructed with engineer support. Cam locks are used in fastening panels together. Sealing gaskets are provided on the exterior and interior edges of panels to provide a tight seal when locked together.

Foamed in place polyurethane insulation is used as the insulating material. This foam meets the current Department of Energy 2009 regulations. Panels have been tested to ASTM-E84 specifications with the following results, flame spread index 0 and smoke developed index 130.

Standard A.C.T. floors shall be 4-3/4″ thick using polyurethane insulation. Standard floor covering is aluminum finish. Please contact manufacturer for other options.

Standard A.C.T. doors shall be built with wood frame construction for heavy duty use. Exterior and interior finish shall be 26 gauge stucco embossed galvanized steel. Doors are 4″ thick for coolers and 5″ thick for freezers, polyurethane insulated. For door size up to 48″, cam lift riser type hinges shall be used. For doors larger than 48″, heavy duty cam lift strap hinges shall be used. All doors are equipped with latch assembly providing positive closing, padlock provision and inside safety release. Heavy duty 14 gauge mill galvanized jamb covers are used to protect sealing gasket and cooler opening. Adjustable sweep gasket provided at bottom of door. Freezer doors shall be equipped with anti-frost heater.

Incandescent and Fluorescent lighting provided shall be NSF and UL approved.

Commercial refrigeration equipment quoted to customer under this specification shall include condensing unit data and evaporator coil data. A.C.T. shall work with customer to determine refrigeration needs based on box size and product data to determine what refrigeration system would best suit their application. Refrigeration equipment supplied shall be UL approved.
